Dr Arianne Sweeting

Dr Arianne Sweeting is a Senior Lecturer in Endocrinology at the University of Sydney and an Endocrinologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, where she serves as the Maternal Metabolic Health Lead. She was awarded the 2022 Australian Diabetes Society Skip Martin Fellowship following the completion of her NHMRC Early Career Fellowship in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015. Arianne has a Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney, in addition to a Graduate Diploma in Public Health Law from the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney. She was awarded an NHMRC postgraduate scholarship and Dr Albert S McKern obstetric research scholarship for her PhD on risk management in Gestational Diabetes. Her international and national diabetes in pregnancy leadership roles include membership of the International Association for the Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) Council, diaTribe Foundation Diabetes Technology in Pregnancy Consensus Expert Group, American Diabetes Association/European Association for the Study of Diabetes Precision Diabetes Initiative (ADA/EASD PMDI), Presidency of the Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society (ADIPS) from 2020-2022 and member of the ADIPS National Diabetes in Pregnancy Benchmarking Programme and the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists Preanalytical Glucose Working Group, and Maternal Metabolic Lead for the Sydney Health Partners Diabetes and Obesity Clinical Academic Group.
